GIS Analyst; Custer County, SD Planning Department
The Custer County Planning Department is seeking a GIS Analyst, a position based in Custer, SD (southwestern South Dakota). Custer is located in the beautiful Custer State Park along with being a short drive from Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Black Hills National Forest. Main Responsibilities for the Position Include-
Preferred applicants demonstrate considerable knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, including programming procedures and techniques and knowledge on map creation, land descriptions and related concepts.
This is a PAID full time position.

Main Responsibilities for the Position Include-
- Maintain administer and troubleshoot GIS databases along with development and maintinence of master street/road index, GIS centerlien and address point files
- Performs special studies and analyses of various agency operations to define problems and determine methods of adapting GIS applications.
- Printing, producing and information assistance regarding county maps and property information
- Provide guidance and training regarding GIS to other agency staff and interns
- Various adminsitrative tasks including budget updates, grant writing, contract preparation and
